Scope

These Terms of Service / Terms & Conditions of Sale apply to all purchases made through our online store and to the use of our website.

By placing an order on our website, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully before completing your purchase.

These Terms apply to consumers purchasing products for personal use. If you are purchasing on behalf of a business or for professional resale, additional or different terms may apply.

Products

We sell Japanese kitchen knives, kitchenware, accessories, and related products through our online store.

Product descriptions, images, specifications, prices, and availability are displayed on the relevant product pages. We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product information is accurate and up to date.

Because many products are handcrafted or made using natural materials, minor variations in appearance, finish, texture, pattern, color, or dimensions may occur. Such variations do not necessarily constitute a defect.

Products are offered subject to availability. If a product becomes unavailable after an order has been placed, we will contact you and may offer a replacement, refund, or cancellation of the unavailable item.

Orders and Contract Formation

To place an order, you must select the desired products, add them to your cart, provide the required checkout information, select a payment method, and confirm your order.

Before confirming your order, you will have the opportunity to review and correct your order details.

After your order is placed, you will receive an order confirmation by email. The contract is formed when we accept your order by sending an order confirmation or by dispatching the ordered products.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where permitted by law, including in cases of suspected fraud, payment failure, obvious pricing or product errors, product unavailability, shipping restrictions, or misuse of our website.

Prices

Product prices are displayed on our website.

Prices may include applicable taxes where required. Any applicable shipping fees, duties, taxes, or additional charges will be shown during checkout where available before you confirm your order.

Prices may change from time to time. The price applicable to your order is the price displayed at the time the order is placed, unless there is an obvious pricing error.

Payment

Available payment methods are displayed at checkout and may include, depending on the store and destination:

❖ Credit card

❖ Shop Pay

❖ PayPal

❖ Google Pay

❖ Other payment methods made available at checkout

Payment must be completed at the time of order unless otherwise stated.

Payments are processed by third-party payment service providers. We do not directly store full credit card numbers.

If payment is not successfully completed, we may suspend or cancel the order.

Shipping and Delivery

We ship to the countries and regions made available at checkout.

Delivery options, estimated delivery times, and shipping costs are displayed during checkout where available.

Delivery times are estimates only and may vary due to customs processing, carrier delays, public holidays, high order volume, weather conditions, or other circumstances outside our control.

The customer is responsible for providing accurate and complete delivery information. We are not responsible for delivery issues caused by incorrect or incomplete shipping details provided by the customer.

For international orders, customs duties, import taxes, and local charges may apply depending on the destination country. Where such charges are not collected at checkout, they may be payable by the customer upon import.

For more details, please refer to our Shipping Policy.

Right of Withdrawal for EU Consumers

If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you generally have the right to withdraw from your online purchase within 14 days without giving any reason, unless an exception applies.

The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day on which you, or a third party indicated by you other than the carrier, physically receives the goods.

For orders delivered in multiple shipments, the withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day on which you, or a third party indicated by you other than the carrier, physically receives the last item.

How to Exercise the Right of Withdrawal

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision to withdraw from the contract by a clear statement.

You may contact us at:

After submitting a withdrawal request through the website withdrawal function, you will receive confirmation of receipt in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

Use of the website withdrawal function is not mandatory. You may also exercise your right of withdrawal by sending us a clear statement by email or other accepted written communication.

Effects of Withdrawal

If you withdraw from the contract, we will refund the payments received from you for the withdrawn product, including the standard delivery cost where required by law.

We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned goods or until you have provided evidence that you have sent back the goods, whichever occurs first.

Refunds will be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction unless otherwise agreed.

You must send back the goods without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day on which you informed us of your withdrawal.

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods.

Returned products must be handled with reasonable care and returned in a condition that allows us to inspect and process the return.

You may be liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods.

Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal

The right of withdrawal may not apply to certain products, including:

❖ Products made to the customer’s specifications

❖ Personalized or engraved products

❖ Custom-made products

❖ Products that cannot be returned for hygiene or safety reasons once unsealed or used, where applicable

This does not affect your statutory rights in relation to defective or non-conforming products.

Customers are responsible for using, storing, cleaning, and maintaining products safely and appropriately.

Unless otherwise stated, kitchen knives should not be used for purposes for which they are not designed, including cutting frozen food, bones, hard materials, or non-food items.

Damage caused by misuse, improper maintenance, accidents, unauthorized modification, normal wear and tear, or failure to follow care instructions may not be treated as a product defect.

Age and Legal Restrictions

By placing an order, you confirm that you are legally permitted to purchase the products in your country or region.

Certain products, including knives, may be subject to age restrictions, import restrictions, or local rules depending on the destination country.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the ordered products can be legally purchased, imported, possessed, and used in the destination country.

We reserve the right to cancel orders where we believe legal restrictions may apply.

Promotions, Discounts, and Gift Cards

Promotional offers, discount codes, and gift cards may be subject to additional conditions.

Discount codes must be used before order confirmation and cannot usually be applied retroactively after an order has been placed.

Promotions may be changed, suspended, or withdrawn at any time where permitted by law.

We are not responsible for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, including carrier delays, customs delays, technical disruptions, force majeure events, or incorrect information provided by the customer.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is not permitted by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, intentional misconduct, or mandatory consumer rights.
